    GIZ works holistically. We draw on our experience and expertise and are committed to our objectives and partnerships.

    We know the countries we work in well and systematically apply knowledge gained from 50 years of international cooperation.
  3. We develop solutions.
    We activate our extensive instruments and networks with flexibility and innovation to create value for our commissioning parties.
  4. We act as an intermediary.
    GIZ negotiates in sensitive contexts and opens doors for the private sector and civil society wherever possible.
  5. We advocate for our values.
    As a federal enterprise, we are guided by the principles upheld in German society and act in Germany's interests. GIZ supports the development policy of the German Government, in particular.
  6. We advise policy-makers.
    In Germany and abroad, GIZ supports decision-makers in implementing their political objectives.
  7. We secure results.
    Our work centres around producing results. We work in a partner-oriented, transparent, efficient and cost-effective manner at all times.  
  8. We are a global player.
    GIZ staff work locally in more than 120 countries worldwide. They have a high level of intercultural competence. This is a key factor of success that accounts for our consistent implementation locally.
